DD: Well, that was a surprise! I've been a bit away from dA these past few days and now I got here and BAM! Thank you very much =prosaix and $Stykera, this DD means a lot to me, this is one of my most treasured pieces and it makes me feel so happy that deviantART embraces what I've tried to portray with it, even though the imagery is so strong as, some might say, controversial for the community.
to everyone.
I'll try my best to reply every comment, please be patient .
To be more precise, contains penis, vagina, nails, blood... unlock at your own will
...You're really missing out, this thing is shiny and sparkles IRL.
Meet dear Identity Crisis, portraying the frustration of, well... identity crises. I guess the whole LGBT got to me, eh?
Stay strong, all
Do not use, reproduce, copy or alter in any way, shape or form without my written permission
To everyone When I created Crisis, I made sure that it would fit within deviantART's policy, I pushed the envelope as far as I could, I'm hanging off the cliff. I am certain that Crisis is okay by deviantART, I based this on my own personal knowledge of the policies AND personal knowledge of key events I've seen unfold in this community throughout my 4 years here.
And now that it received this feature, and by $Stykera, I am more at ease with myself, and with this community. I planned on replying to everyone, but it is overpowering, especially because most replies I'd have to write would be trying to explain myself. And I do not plan on doing that. Crisis is about Crisis. If you wish to discuss policy, go somewhere else. For example, #ButthurtBrigade has a journal about this issue right now. Feel free to go talk about policies there. But Crisis is about Crisis. I don't wish for the comments of people such as *dont-poke-the-bear ( [link] ) to be drowned in the sea of "I'M REPORTING THIS, SORRY".
Report it if you want. I do not mind. I trust Crisis and this community to stand strong amidst the sea of people who, despite being in the very same battle I am, have decided to turn their backs against me, even though Crisis being featured is a sign of growth, not of corruption.
Those are my words about the matter. I can't discuss policy. I didn't make it.

Crisis de Identidad by *angelishi is "one of those pictures that comes back to haunt you at the worst possible time." Let's see how prescient it turns out to be! (

I honestly don't understand how this doesn't break dA rules, but hey, I hate these rules Lots of great stuff has been removed by these rules, I'm happy to see this wasn't, and even got a DD Anyway I really like this drawing, and to read the comments of the powerless moral hordes is priceless...Good job!
i like it! i am usually not keen on randomly placed genitals or sexual images in general, but this is neither. it is not sexual, and nothing is randomly placed! this is a very timeless message that is being portrayed in the most contemporary of ways. it bashes the viewer on the head a bit, but that seems to be your intent so it works.
your rendering is very nice and i like how frail your lines are; the frailty speaks to humanity and our vulnerability in my opinion. the circular and connected composition however seems more optimistic to human nature and our ability to overcome the pain of an identity crisis and come to discover what we choose to embrace. or maybe that the pain itself is circular and seems never-ending at times... hmm. very heavy stuff. i like that i am veering off into many interpretations from formal elements alone. well done!
i think that i would like to see a tiny bit of actual red paint splattered into the background free of linework; i understand if you intend to leave it as is, i just think it would continue to pull your background and foreground together. i think adding a moment where you don't have precise control over the medium in that color would really speak to the lack of control a person has over the way they are born. being born in this way presents a social and introverted struggle and it is not perfect, but it's beautiful and has its place. i think it would also complement your bits of white splatters. but still, up to you; i just like talking about formal suggestions. the work is still immensely powerful.
Thank you for the comment and suggestion, it has always been my plan to re-make crisis in the future and I'll make sure to considerate everything people have told me about how it made them feel
I like this a lot, it has a lot of symbolism to it and it's very clear that you intended it too
On top of a statmeent about LGBT I also see a statement about circumcision- regardless of if you intended it or not I find that if it can be interpreted in multiple ways and make the audience think it's a superior piece. this be one of the DDs that Deserved it.
Although I find it somewhat humorous that those that featured you are now banned.
